On Monday 11th November we had Ms. Lucy Forde from Heritage in Schools provide us with a workshop on ‘Brown Bread Making’. Lucy with the help of the children baked two loaves of bread and while these breads were in the oven Lucy provided us with a talk on the history of bread making and showed the children how ancient people found and processed different types of grains, first by hand and then by harnessing the power present in their natural environment. The staff and children really enjoyed this workshop and found it very interesting and the taste of the freshly baked bread was a lovely treat at the end.
